Arepera El Volante is a straightforward spot focused on Venezuelan comfort food, sitting quietly on C. Menores in Adeje. This is the kind of place you come to when you’re after authentic arepas — those filled cornmeal sandwiches that form the backbone of Venezuelan street eats. The restaurant blends a casual vibe with a practical location, making it a convenient stop, especially if you’re heading up Teide or passing through the area.

Inside, it’s relaxed and unpretentious. You won’t find Michelin-star polish here, but you will get honest, traditional flavors. The arepas come small but packed with fillings like carne mechada (pulled beef) and reina pepiada (chicken with avocado), with the former generally earning better marks for taste. Alongside these, expect a few European-influenced options, such as schnitzel with pepper sauce and overbaked fish dishes, reflecting Tenerife’s diverse local palate.

The staff lean towards friendly rather than formal, though language can sometimes be a small barrier if you’re not comfortable in Spanish. This doesn’t slow down the experience, as the pace feels unhurried, fitting well with lunch or a light snack in the sun.

Arepera El Volante suits those who know what they want — Venezuelan classics without fuss, served in a spot that benefits from a good view and afternoon sunshine. It’s not crowded or bustling, which means you can often enjoy a tranquil moment outside on their terrace, making it a nice pause in a busy day.

Parking is available nearby, which adds to the convenience for locals and travelers alike. Given its steady track record with repeat visitors, it’s clear that this place serves a reliable slice of home for Venezuelan cuisine lovers and those curious about it.

When she said the arepa is very small, it is indeed very small… the pulled meat (carne mechada) one is good, the Reina (chicken and avocado) is less tasty. View is good although we were too late to see it. Has parking.

The food here is amazing. Great friendly staff and an excellent view. The Arepas are to die for. The staff were not very fluent in English and I am not that good at Spanish. But this was no problem. Stopped in here on my way up Teide for lunch. Was not disappointed. The Papa's bravas are the best in Tenerife.

Atmosphere feels very local, great panorama view, menu and waitress only spanish language. But prices are reasonable and food is awesome.

Food was tasty and the place looked good with the fabulous ocean view, waitresses were kind but when we went to the toilette they were watching us and made us a bit uncomfortable, but maybe we just misunderstood the situation, i dont know. We were sitting next to the balcony, the last one in the row, and a man came next to us from an other table and started smoking... i know its not the restaurant's fault however the waitresses could have done something, but maybe im just too sensitive for the smoking smell. But overall it is 4 stars for the mentioned reasons.

Amazing food, you can taste all is freshly made. We had a selection of tapas, and I cannot even remember the last time I ate this well. The hostess is amazing, and you feel very welcome and well taken care of. Edit: Went twice, was amazing both times. Thank you!
